Right, this is coming out next month.

I really do think the pace they're going with the movies is way too quick. Wakanda Forever came out in November 11 and 2 and a half months later they're already onto the next one.

No wonder I've been feeling saturation from MCU, something back 4 years ago in 2019 I never thought I would be experiencing.

@NinnesMBC - Ah yes, 2019, the year that they released Captain Marvel in March, Endgame in April, and Far From Home in July. I sure wish Marvel would release movies as slowly as they did back then.

@NinnesMBC - Dumb comment. "2019" Captain Marvel in March, Endgame in April, and Far from Home in July.

@TUD - And then 2018: Black Panther in February, Infinity War in April/May, and Ant-Man & The Wasp in July.

@TheShellyMan - And then there's 2017: Guardians 2 in May, Homecoming in July, and Ragnarok in November...... with Black Panther coming three months later.

@NinnesMBC - 🧐 It'll have been over three months between releases (November 11th --> February 17th), which has been pretty standard for the MCU for years now.

@TUD - Back then there weren't many series coming out one after another though. That's where my own saturation is coming from, which was the point of my post.

@TheShellyMan - Not dumb, was just realizing how things are far more quick paced now than it used to be.

@EskimoJ - IDK why it feels shorter and shorter to me then.

TUD -1/17/2023,1:16 AM

@NinnesMBC - Not to be rude, since I guess it's not that big a deal, but if it's the series that are making you feel overwhelmed, you should have commented on that instead of commenting on the release dates of the movies. Those aren't spaced any closer together now than they have been since 2017.

@NinnesMBC -
I feel its less the release dates and more that none of these movies feel like they are worth watching. Marketing is fairly minimal, nothing feels like an 'event movie'. Movies happen and then are never spoken of again. Spider-man NWH was a partial exception, but even that people have kinda gotten cold to lately and its not discussed anymore.

Though I do agree a reshuffle should definitely have happened:

• Black Panther 2 should have been February
• Ant-Man 3 should never have been moved forward, realistically the only thing it's got connecting it to anything is Kang who won't be relevant until Phase 6, the tone could also cause some burnout if both Ant-Man 3 and Guardians 3 attempt a more serious tone or emotional ending
• Guardians 3 is fine where it is.
• Captain Marvel 2, should have just been turned into a Disney+ series told from the perspective of the three 'Marvels'
• Captain America 4 is fine where it is.
• Thunderbolts, should have just been turned into a Disney+ series as most the characters are from the Disney+ shows and it's unlikely to grab the attention of a larger audience after two Suicide Squad movies have damaged peoples impressions
• Blade, should be October instead of September
• Deadpool 3 is fine where it is
• Fanta5tic Four should have been April 2024, massive marketing opportunity lost forever because of incompetence

Oh and either Secret Wars should be in 2027 or another Avengers movie should be because it's the 15 year anniversary of Avengers and you want to milk that for all its worth before you reboot.

This project will presumably decide the fate of the Multiverse storyline, they really have sacrificed the entire low-stakes family dynamic of the Ant-Man movies in a desperate attempt to push Kang forward and pretend that Ant-Man is remotely the right movie to be introducing such a character.

Granted I'm sure they'll re-introduce Kang again in a future film, but they really need this to break the curse of quantity over quality production that they shoved out over the last Phase. If it performs worse than the previous movies, then I think they'd go full panic mode. They know Guardians 3 should do fairly well, but Captain Marvel 2 could go either way and other than NWH none of the movies post-endgame have passed the $1bn threshold.

Ant-Man made $519.3m, $105m of which was from China. ($414.3m without China)
Ant-Man 2 made $622.7m, $121m of which was from China. ($501.7m without China)

Ant-Man 2 was released during peak MCU, maximum levels of hype. I personally cannot see Ant-Man 3, which does not have China, getting close.

I'd say my estimates are $400-$600m, noting that those who liked the Ant-Man movies primarily liked them for the lower stakes and comedic tone - whereas this movie is a much more serious movie with comedic elements being shoved into it via reshoots because they feel like they've alienated the core audience.

Oh, I also think the god awful marketing that spoils a lot of the film is going to negatively impact them. There is nothing that's going to surprise you if you've seen the trailer, it shows all the film condensed. The conflicting tone also sounds like its going to be a problem given remarks from Midnights Edge which also aligns with the script leaks and set photos/recordings.

@Scarilian - Midnights edge is part of the anti comic book movie agenda

@TheCoonII -
His behind-the-scenes stuff has been very accurate, regardless of whether you want to lump him in as anti-comic book movie or whatever, I don't particularly care for that if the behind-the-scenes stuff he is relaying is factual.

This info on Ant-Man 3 I know to be legitimate based off the provided recordings of the recent reshoots that appeared online coupled with the set leaks and everything in the trailer matching the script leak from a few months ago.
